Save a bunch of money by using your existing wiring to connect additional computers to your network. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars pulling new cabling and disrupting your office, you can access the network with two devices through an existing connection. At present only two pairs are used in 10BaseT wiring. The second port of this distributor wires the signal to run over the unused second pair.

This auction is for a pair of splitters. Use one at each end of cable run.

How does it work? Normal Category 5, 5E and Cat 6 wiring includes 8 wires of which Ethernet and Fast Ethernet use only the wires on pins 1, 2, 3, and 6. This splitter works by taking the unused wires and making them a available to a second computer or a printer or other Ethernet device. At your wiring hub, the second splitter (you get a pair with your winning splits the signal back out and plugs into two separate ports on your hub or switch. These splitters, by themselves, do not allow you to share an Internet connection. If you have any questions about your application, email me before bid.
